Usage Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-21
This policy sets out acceptable use of FastECU NextGen (the "Software") and the account/billing system at this site (the "Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service.
Your license key
- Your license key is for checking your own subscription status - it isn't for sharing, reselling, or pooling across accounts you don't control.
- Don't attempt to bypass, spoof, or otherwise circumvent the subscription check (e.g. to read from or write to an ECU without an active plan).
- Don't attempt to probe, disrupt, or send abusive volumes of requests at the account API beyond normal use (subscription checks, login, etc.) - it's rate-limited, and repeatedly hitting those limits may result in a temporary or permanent block.
Your responsibility for vehicle/ECU use
The Software communicates directly with a vehicle's ECU/TCU that you connect to your own computer - we never see the ROM files, calibrations, or vehicle data you work with. Because of that, you are solely responsible for:
- only reading from or writing to vehicles and ECUs you own or are authorized to work on;
- understanding the real risk involved - an interrupted or incorrect write can render an ECU inoperable, and a bad calibration can damage an engine or transmission;
- complying with all laws applicable to you, including emissions and road-legal regulations in your jurisdiction; and
- not using the Software for anything illegal, including tampering with a vehicle's odometer, emissions controls, or safety systems in a way that violates applicable law.
Prohibited conduct on the account/billing Service
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to another user's account, license key, or data.
- Uploading malicious code or attempting to exploit a vulnerability in the Service.
- Using the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications.
- Reverse-engineering the Service with the intent to circumvent billing or license enforcement.
- Creating accounts through automated means to obtain more Trial access than intended.
Reporting a security issue
If you believe you've found a security vulnerability in the Software or Service, please report it to info@fastecu.fi before disclosing it publicly. We ask that you not exploit it beyond what's needed to demonstrate the issue.
Enforcement
Violating this policy may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or termination of your account, at our discretion and proportionate to the violation.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
